Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study are to understand the meaning and essential structure of clinical nurses’ experiences of verbal violence and find nursing intervention for them by applying phenomenological research method. Methods: The participants in this study were seven clinical nurses with experience of verbal violence. Data collection were conducted from August 2016 through January 2017 until data saturation. Data analysis was performed through a cyclical process of data collection and analysis by applying Giorgi’s phenomenological method. Results: Four categories were identified: A weapon of the mind: the shock of verbal abuse; negative emotions that shake my heart; skepticism about the value and meaning of a job; an unforgettable wound. Conclusions: The results of this study provide a deeper understanding of the pain caused by verbal violence experienced by nurses from their care recipients. These results suggest that nursing interventions for nurses with experience of verbal violence will contribute to resolving the problem.

Abstract
Purpose: This study aimed to examine the occupational injuries experienced by operating room nurses and investigate the relationship between these injuries and safety climate. Methods: The study involved 198 operating room nurses working in general and tertiary hospitals with more than 300 beds. Results: Among the four sub-factors of occupational injuries experienced by operating room nurses, risks due to ergonomic hazards were the most prevalent and those due to physical hazards were the least. The scores related to occupational injury showed a significantly negative correlation with the safety climate. Conclusions: The findings indicate that higher operating room nurses’ awareness of the safety climate is associated with lower rates of occupational injury. Therefore, organizational efforts and interventions are imperative to improve the safety climate within hospitals. Additionally, in order to investigate the safety of operating room nurses more in-depth, it is necessary to expand not only the sample size but also the geographic scope.

Abstract
Purpose: This study aimed to identify factors affecting subjective cognitive decline (SCD) in men and women. Methods: This study was conducted based on data from the 2021 Korea Community Health Survey, and targeted a total of 80,026 men and 98,753 women aged 40 or older who responded to the SCD assessment. Multivariate logistic regression analysis using a complex sample was performed to identify factors influencing SCD. Results: Of the participants, 19,438 (22.7%) men and 30,826 (29.9%) women in the community reported SCD. Significant factors that influence SCD in both groups were age, education level, subjective health status, and depressive symptoms, and the strongest risk factor was depressive symptoms. Compared to women, men’s monthly income, flexibility exercise, hypertension, and diabetes mellitus were found to be significant factors on SCD and Healthcare services affected SCD only in women. Medical services affected SCD only in women. Conclusions: When planning and providing intervention programs for cognitive function, it is necessary to reflect differences in factors associated with SCD according to sex.

Abstract
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the influence of public hospital nurses’ psychological capital and nursing work environment on job embeddedness. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional survey was conducted from October 21 to 31, 2022. A total of 200 participants working at a public hospital in Gyeonggi-do were recruited. Data collection was conducted using questionnaires. Data were analyzed using t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and hierarchical regression analysis. Results: The mean scores of psychological capital and nursing work environment were 3.32±0.60 out of 5 and 2.43±0.48 out of 4, respectively. The mean score for Job embeddedness was 3.14±0.72 out of 5. Psychological capital showed a significant positive correlation with nursing work environment and job embeddeness, and nursing work environment also showed a significant positive correlation with job embeddedness. The factors affecting job embeddeness of public hospital nurses were positive psychological capital, nursing work environment, and age. Conclusions: The results of this study suggest that in order to increase job embeddedness, it is necessary to develop education and programs that can strengthen positive psychological capital of public hospital nurses. In addition, the nursing work environment must be improved by providing appropriate manpower and resources.

Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of preoperative guidance and operating room environment experience using virtual reality on increasing satisfaction with information and reducing anxiety in preoperative patients undergoing general anesthesia and local anesthesia. Methods: A non-equivalent control group quasi-experimental design was employed. The participants were 80 surgical patients from 4 wards (40 experimental group and 40 control group) of the general hospital located in Gyeonggi-do. Data collection was conducted from June to November 2023 after completing the control group survey in January 2023. Data were analyzed using Chi-square, t-test, and Mann-Whitney U test using SPSS 23.0 program. Results: Satisfaction with preoperative information was higher in the experimental group than that of the control group. Additionally, anxiety related to surgery in the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group. The preoperative state anxiety score in the experimental group was not significantly lower than that of the control group. Conclusions: These results suggest that providing patient education and information using virtual reality technology can not only alleviate patients’ anxiety related to surgery, but also have the potential to be used as an effective intervention to improve positive patient experiences.

Abstract
Purpose: This study was conducted to determine the impact of premature menopause (PM) on metabolic syndrome and its components to determine its contribution to the health of Korean women undergoing natural menopause. Methods: This study used data from the 4th to 8th National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2007∼2021). A total of 11,989 women aged 30 to 65 who responded to questions about their current menstrual status, natural menopause status and its age. Complex sample multivariate Cox proportional hazards regression analysis was used. Results: Compared with women with late menopause, women with PM had a 1.34 times higher risk of developing metabolic syndrome. Excluding the risk of high blood pressure, women with PM had a significantly higher risks of increased waist circumference, decreased high-density lipoprotein, increased risk of high triglycerides, and increased fasting blood glucose. Conclusions: The results of this study provided data that can be applied to policies or interventions to prevent or manage metabolic syndrome in women with PM in Korea.
