Abstract
Purpose: This study was to identify the effects of self-resilience and social support on reality shock among new graduate nurses. Methods: The data was collected using self-reported questionnaires from a convenience sample of 111 new graduate nurses. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistical, independent t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression via the SPSS Window 23.0 program. Results: Among general and work related characteristics, factors that have shown significant differences on reality shock were gender (t=-2.29, p=.024), work unit (t=3.31, p=.023) and whether they are working at unit they desired (t=-5.08, p<.001). Reality shock has shown a negative correlation with self-resilience (r=-.51, p<.001) and social support (r=-.41, p<.001). Factors that affected the reality shock on new graduate nurses were self-resilience (β=-.43, p<.001), whether they are working at unit they desired (β=.35, p<.001) and their currently work unit (β=-.17, p=.028). These factors take into account of 38.0% of overall reality shock. Conclusion: The results suggest that self-resilience, desired unit and current work unit should be considered as factors when developing an intervention to alleviate the reality shock experienced by new graduate nurses.

Abstract
Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the adherence to the clinical guideline for endotracheal suction in nurses working at intensive care units (ICU) and to identify the characteristics of nurses with good adherence. Methods: This study was a descriptive study to evaluate the pattern of adherence and its related factors to endotracheal suction. One hundred fifty five nurses working at ICU participated in this study. We used a questionnaire developed based on American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) guidelines and other associated factors from previous studies. Results: Around half of the participants reported that their adherence to the clinical guideline was poor. Items deviated from the recommended guideline were reasons for initiating a suctioning, applied suction pressure ranged from 20 to 200mmHg, and applied catheter size from 6 to 17 french. Other factors deviated were the depth of inserted catheter, and inappropriate use of normal saline instillation. The most significant factor was related to hospital; the misused or misled clinical protocol. Conclusions: The adherence to the clinical guidelines of the endotracheal suction in ICU nurses was not appropriate, which might contribute to the patient health outcomes. More enhanced continuing education as well as hospital regulation is warranted.

Abstract
Aims: This study aimed to analyze the tasks of Korean Medicine (KM) nurses. Methods: The definition and job description of KM nurses were developed through a “developing a curriculum” (DACUM) workshop. DACUM committee consisted of nine nurses from eleven Korean medicine hospitals, two DACUM facilitators and four DACUM coordinators. Twenty five nurses from nine Korean medicine hospitals validated job description established through the workshop. 235 KM nurses from 9 traditional Korean medicine hospitals participated in evaluating frequency, importance and difficulty of the duties and tasks. Questionnaires were sent to those nurses and 225 responses were included for final analysis due to missing data. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: The jobs of a KM nurse were analyzed into 11 duties and 86 tasks on the DACUM chart. The 11 duties were KM nursing assessment, KM nursing intervention, fundamental nursing intervention, KM therapy management, support for KM therapy, KM nursing education, nursing administration, material management, environment management, professional development, and collaborative role between Korean medicine and Western medicine. Conclusion: We identified various roles of KM nurses and developed a DACUM chart based on their duties and tasks. Phased education programs for KM nurses should be developed by considering frequency, importance and difficulty. In addition, it is necessary to promote unique KM nursing interventions for expanding the roles of KM nurses in the future.

Abstract
Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the effects of Pericardium Kimek (K9) and Nei-Guan (P6) acupressure on relief of the anxiety, nausea, retching and physiologic changes (oxygen saturation, blood pressure, heart rate, temperature and respiration) in the patients undergoing unsedated esophagogastroduodenoscopy. Methods: A quasi-experimental research design was used. The participants were assigned into the listed three groups, i.e., the control group, the first experimental group (E1: K9 acupressure group) and the second experimental group (E2: P6 acupressure group). A total of 60 participants were included for analysis. Results: The severity of nausea (F=3.503, p=.037), the oxygen saturation (F=5.417, p=.007). and the respiration rate (F=7.270, p=.002) showed statistically significant differences in three groups. Conclusion: Based on the results of the present study, K9 acupressure with moxa pellets and P6 acupressure with wristbands (Sea-Band) are considered to be safe and an easy-to-apply intervention to relieve nausea and maintain the level of oxygen saturation and respiration rate in patients undergone unsedated esophagogastroduodenoscopy.

Abstract
Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the effects of forest walking program on stress and recovery among schizophrenic patients in a closed ward. Methods: A non-equivalent control group pre-posttest design was used. The participants were composed of 36 patients with schizophrenia admitted in two psychiatric hospitals. The experimental group (n = 18) received the forest walking program twice a week with a total of 6 weeks. Results: The study results revealed that the forest walking program was effective on stress(χ2=34.11, p<.001), subjective recovery(χ2=22.40, p<.001) and clinical recovery(F=28.34, p<.001) of hospitalized patients with schizophrenia. Conclusion: The findings indicate that the forest walking program for schizophrenic patients in the closed ward can be an effective nursing intervention to reduce stress and improve recovery ability. We suggest that mental health nurses may adapt this program to help patients with schizophrenia in a closed ward.
