Abstract
Purpose: This descriptive research was conducted to identify the effects of work complexity, role conflict, knowledge of traditional Korean (Hanbang) nursing, and grit on the job satisfaction among traditional Korean nurses. Methods: The survey was conducted from September 7, 2020 to February 10, 2021 on 155 Hanbang nurses. Data were analyzed by t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and multiple linear regression with the SPSS statistics 26.0 program. Result: The factors affecting job satisfaction of Hanbang nurses were work complexity, knowledge of Hanbang nursing, age, and experience in traditional Korean medicine hospitals. Conclusions: It is necessary to promote Hanbang nursing related education in regular and clinical area in order to improve the job satisfaction of Hanbang nurses. In addition, an organizational effort is required to increase long-term job satisfaction.

Abstract
Purpose: We compared the Korean Triage and Acuity Scale (KTAS), Injury Severity Score (ISS), and Revised Trauma Score (RTS) determined the validity of KTAS for classifying trauma patients. Methods: A retrospective chart review of 10,865 trauma patients (aged ≥15 years) who visited a single regional trauma and emergency medical center from January 1, 2016, to December 31, 2020, was conducted. Data were collected from the Korean Trauma Data Bank. Based on KTAS classification, the rates of intensive care unit admission, surgery and intervention, transfusion, emergency room (ER) and hospital mortality, and ER stay time were investigated. Data were analyzed using Chi-square test, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, receiver operating characteristic curve, and area under the ROC curve. Results: In the KTAS, severe trauma patients (ISS ≥16) were classified as Level 1 (79.6%), 2 (44.8%), 3 (15.5%), 4 (4.0%) and 5 (7.6%). The following were the predictive powers of KTAS, ISS, and RTS for different parameters: surgery and intervention rate, KTAS (.71), ISS (.70), and RTS (.63); transfusion rate within 4h, KTAS (.82), ISS (.82), and RTS (.74); ER stay time within 90 min, KTAS (.72), ISS (.62), and RTS (.56); and ER mortality, KTAS (.84), ISS (.72), and RTS (.88). These findings were statistically significant (p<.001). The sensitivity and specificity of KTAS for trauma patients were .88 (.87~.90), and .38 (.37~.39), respectively. Conclusion: KTAS is a useful classification system that can predict the clinical outcomes of patients with trauma, and effectively triage acutely ill trauma patients, thus provide appropriate treatment.

Abstract
Purpose: This research aimed to assess nursing students’ knowledge, attitudes and infection prevention behaviors toward the coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19). Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted from September 11 through October 1, 2020, involving a total of 235 third and fourth year of nursing students enrolled in two universities in U and K city. Self-report questionnaires consisting of demographic characteristics, knowledge, attitudes and infection prevention behaviors toward the COVID-19 were administered to the participants. Results: Influencing factors for infection prevention behaviors were gender (β=0.21, p<.001), attitudes toward infection control (β=0.38, p<.001), education experience regarding COVID-19 (β=0.21, p=.004), and a visit to the hospitals or the areas where the COVID-19 case has occurred or been admitted (β=-0.18, p=.003) which explained 23.6% of the total variance. Conclusion: The results of this study provides basic information regarding nursing students’ knowledge about COVID-19, attitudes toward infection control, and infection prevention behaviors during the initial outbreak of COVID-19.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors affecting burnout of nurses caring for people with mental illness in general hospital wards. Methods: This study conducted a survey targeting 186 nurses in general wards with more than one year of clinical experience working at three general hospitals in Seoul, Korea. The collected data were analyzed using t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS 21.0. Results: The factors influencing burnout were nursing work stress (β=.30, p<.001), attitude towards people with mental illness (β=-.25, p<.001), religion (β=-.21, p=.001), psychiatric nursing competency (β=-.16, p=.016), experience of nursing for people with mental illness (β=.14, p=.023), and gender (β=.14, p=.026), explaining 33.5% of the total variance (F=16.53, p<.001). Conclusion: The findings suggest that it is necessary to develop and apply an education program to lower nurses’ work stress, to create positive attitude towards people with mental illness, and to enhance psychiatric nursing competency for prevention and mitigation of burnout of nurses caring for people with mental illness.

Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing prevention behaviors for particulate matter exposure in young adults. Methods: A convenience sample of 330 young adults was recruited from the community. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression analysis with the SPSS/ WIN 26.0 program. Results: The factors affecting prevention behaviors of particulate matter exposure were self-efficacy (β=.54 p<.001), subjective norm (β=.18, p<.001) and using the air purifier (β=.-17, p<.001). These variables had a 46% variance to explain prevention behaviors for particulate matter exposure. Conclusion: Findings showed that ‘self-efficacy’ and ‘subjective norm’ were important factors influencing prevention behaviors of particulate matter exposure in young adults. Thus, we need to consider the positive impact of prevention behaviors of particulate matter exposure and increase the chances of prevention behaviors of particulate matter exposure program for young adults.

Abstract
Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the factors affecting the attitudes toward brain death organ donation among nurses and doctors in an operating room. Methods: A descriptive research was used. The participants included 90 nurses and 30 doctors who had experience of operating organ transplantation for brain death organ donation. Data were collected from March 12 to May 23, 2020 in the one tertiary general hospital. The outcome measures were perception and attitude of death and attitude towards brain death organ donation. Results: Attitudes toward brain death organ donation was influenced by type of occupation, intention of organ donation and attitude toward death. In addition, the explanatory power of the total variance was 52.1%. Conclusions: Based on the results, it is necessary to prepare an intervention to improve awareness of the brain death and the brain death organ donation.

A Study on the Health Research of Sexual Minorities in Korea 한국 성 소수자 건강연구에 대한 고찰

DOI:10.14370/jewnr.2022.28.1.67
Abstract
This paper reviewed the past social discussion and health research results on sexual minorities to suggest a future direction. Studies have been done to increase the social inclusion of sexual minorities and promote the health of sexual minorities. However, there is still a lot of exclusive awareness of sexual minorities in Korean society, and the researchers have not identified their health status. Studies have shown that factors that hinder lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) people from accessing medical services are the lack of knowledge and awareness of LGBTI people and attitudes not inclusive of LGBTI people's culture. Thus, it is necessary to identify the health status of each sexual minority type and prepare health promotion measures accordingly in national health research. In addition, it is essential to provide medical personnel with sexual minority education and introduce a sexual minority education curriculum that includes theory and practice into the health care curriculum. The result of this paper may be able to act as a guide for future operation plans in health research on sexual minorities.
